Cutty Sark 1:78 Scale

In 1885 the Cutty Sark sailed from Sydney Australia to London in 73 days. She hoisted 32,000 square feet of sail and had a top speed of 17 1/2 knots.

Mantua’s Cutty Sark 1:78 Scale kit is designed from original plans.

Construction is double plank-on-bulkhead using limewood inner and walnut outer planking. All wooden parts ar laser cut to facilitate assembly. Authentically detailed gilded metal ornaments grace her bow and stern. Solid brass yard collars and supports encircle the vessel, and individual copper plates cover the hull. Other fittings are copper, brass, cast metal and pre-finished hardwoods. Eight giant sheets of plans and an instruction booklet assure you of an accurate model.
