Algar’s church is the oldest medieval wooden church in the VSstergtland region in Sweden. The church is one of the few remaining mediaeval wooden churches with a rich interior, paintings from the 18th century and many mediaeval inventories. Some of the older church furniture, a baptismal font, a Maria Box, a triumphal crucifix and a wooden bell with runic writing have been dated to the first half of 13th century.
