The diorama is an artistic representation of the entrance to Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, one of the largest in the world.

Located in the center of the “old city,” on the European side of Istanbul.
Between Nuruosmaniye, Mercan, and Beyazıt, it has more than 58 streets and 4,000 shops.

It attracts between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily.
It offers numerous business areas, including jewelry, goldsmithing, spice shops, and carpet stores. The shops are grouped by type of activity, following the tradition of ancient guilds. The bazaar contains two bedestans, or domed masonry structures for storing goods; the first was built in 1464 by order of Mehmed II. In 1864, after a severe earthquake, it was largely rebuilt.

This fabulous diorama blends seamlessly with the Istanbul tram, uniting the nostalgic Taksim Tunnel line with the Grand Bazaar, in an effort to bring together two great emblems of the city of Istanbul.
