The Albatros is one of a series of schooners built with one gun deck in 1840. The slender shape of the hull and the relatively smooth lines of the deck were copied from the French frigates, which frequently sailed into ports on the American coast during the war of independence.

The first schooners were built in Baltimore, and quickly established themselves on both coasts of the USA and later in other areas as well. This kit by OcCre is one of the best

Entry Level kits to come out in a long time.

Everything is included right down to excellent pre-sewn sails and mounting base.

You will find strong plywood for support are such as bulkheads.

The hull is double-planked using Ramin and Sapelli with African Walnut trim.

Fittings include 8 metal gun carriages and gun barrels, brass belaying pins, 3 diameters of rigging line and much more. Instructions are excellent and are accompanied by step by step color photos and full size plans, making assembly much easier.
