19th Century French Caronade This powder was built in France following the English one, cast one century before. The screwed sight, the stronger breech and the gun carriage running on a track, made the French carronade more efficient. The gun was placed onto the first and second range vessels.
English Carronade Built in Scotland in Caron Town between 1776 and 1779. It was the first barrel cast in foundry pig, squat and with short range, but terrible during close quarters battles. Two Carronades were placed on the H.M.S. Victory's fore deck.
