This is a new version of Constructo's Cutty Sark. Scale is now 1:115 as opposed to 1:90. Model is 2" shorter. At 30" long, Constructo's Cutty Sark is just the right size for easy building and convenient display. Traditional plank-on-bulkhead construction uses pre-cut plywood for frames and keel. The deck is covered with individual strips of walnut, while the hull features a beautiful contrast of dark walnut and lighter limewood planking. Boxwood blocks, walnut deadeyes, numerous beech and bokapi parts are ready to use. Fittings include burnished metal gun ports, white metal anchors, davits and capstan, brass wire, chain, pin nails and ladder, plus highly detailed photo-etched brass ornamentation. Three diameters of rigging, cotton sail material, silk-screened flag and wooden display base complete the kit. Precisely drawn plans place special emphasis on rigging, and illustrated instructions are complete with a parts list.

At the end of the 19th century pretty little steamboats like the Elidir were a common sight on the River Thames. Between 20 and 40 feet long, these boats had a simple but efficient boiler system, cooled by water from the river itself. A number of them, in perfect condition after 100 years of service, are still in operation on the Thames.
You'll use traditional plank-on-bulkhead techniques to build your Elidir. Most wooden parts are pre-cut, fittings are cast in white metal and brass, and all necessary parts for the steam engine and boiler are supplied.

At the end of the 18th century the U.S. Navy had only the schooner ENTERPRISE as the only war vessel to protect the merchant fleet from the pirates in the mediterranean sea. The Enterprise was built in Mayland in 1799 and participated in the siege of Tripoli in 1801. She underwent major repair work in Venice in 1805, and Washington in 1811 where the rig was changed to berg. Enterprise and Constitution captured the pirate ship MATISCO, and in 1813 captured the English berg BOXER. She was sunk in the West Indies in 1823.
Plank-on-bulkhead kit by Constructo contains pre-cut keel and ribs. A complete selection of cast metal, hardwood and solid brass fittings include turned brass cannons. H.M.S. Bounty, a merchant ship fitted out as a frigate, will always be remembered for the mutiny organized by Fletcher Christian in 1789 during a voyage to Tahiti. Christian and the other mutineers forced Captain Bligh to abandon the ship in an open longboat with 18 crew members who were loyal to him and a few provisions. After a hazardous voyage of nearly 4,000 miles, they managed to reach the island of Timor.

The English merchant ship H.M.S. Bounty (built in 1787) was the scene of the dramatic mutiny led by Fletcher Christian against the infamous Captain Bligh. After a trip to Tahiti, the mutineers cast Bligh and 18 of his supporters adrift in the ship's launch. Bligh survived the perilous voyage, only to be ousted from another ship in 1797.
Constrructo's kit is double plank-on-bulkhead. Beech, mahogany, boxwood and other fine hardwood parts are pre-cut for fast and easy assembly. An exceptional set of fittings guarantees a historically accurate model. The figurehead, four cannons and ten falconets are brass. Ornamental pieces and other parts are faithfully reproduced in brass, cast metal and wood. Several diameters of rigging line, sail cloth, full sized plans and clear instructions complete the kit.

The Endeavour was a bark made of English oak with a reinforced structure. It was prepared to accommodate a group of astronomers and scientists accompanying the expedition for the main purpose of observing the transit of Venus across the sun, an event due to happen in June 1769 and which was supposed to be visible from the island of Tahiti.
On August 26, 1768 Lieutenant James Cook set sail from Plymouth, England in the refitted supply ship Endeavour. On this expedition he discovered Australia and mapped New Zealand, Tahiti, and the Society Islands. By the end of the voyage Cook had boundless faith in the Endeavour, advising the Admiralty that no other type of vessel should be used to explore distant lands.

In 1620 the Mayflower set out from the English port of Southampton with 102 pilgrims on board. Because of bad weather, the crossing took 77 days. On December 21 the ship landed at what is today Plymouth, Massachusetts.

HMS PRINCE, 1670...This latest kit from Constructo’s is a beautiful scale replica of the 98-gun British warship H.M.S. Prince that sank the French ship Achille during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
One of the most beautiful 17th century English ships, H.M.S. Prince was designed by Phineas Pett, the builder of the Sovereign of the Seas. The Prince was launched at Chatham in 1670 as a first class vessel armed with 100 cannon and carrying a wartime crew of 780 men. She fought her first her first battle in 1672 under the flag of the Duke of York during the third war between England and Holland. Even though the Prince was victorious, she was badly damaged during the conflict. H.M.S. Prince served the Crown until 1692.
Constructo’s imposing new H.M.S. Prince model features plank-on-bulkhead construction using laser cut wooden components. Individual planking strips of African walnut and fine beechwood cover the hull and decks. Ready-to-use wooden fittings include blocks, deadeyes, mast hoops and gratings. Stern decoration is photo-etched brass. Brass is also used for eyebolts, rudder hinges and hundreds of miniature nails. The lavish ornamentation of the original ship is reproduced in finely cast white metal.
